Dr. Uma Shankar Singh is presently developing a Trust “Institute for Sustainable Development and Research” at Prayagraj, UP aiming to promote Environmental Education and Sustainable development in and around UP. Meeting and discussions with NGOs, CBOs, other stske holhers ane villagers is on. My future plan is to develop a good Environmental system and practices for these areas. For awareness purposes, I regularly post materials on FB page and Thousands of people read it regularly.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES:

• Worked as Program Manager, for Huawei Daksh Telecom Sector Skill  Development Centre at Zamania, Ghazipur affiliated to  TSSC. This was funded by Huawei and managed by Plan International, under the supervision of GVS Ghazipur, from 1st Feb., 2019 to 31st December, 2020.
• Worked as Chief of Programme in Bhartiya Mahila Gramodyog Sansthan Allahabad from September, 2017 to Jan.,19. Organisation is extensively involved in Developmental activities/ Skill Dev. Programme in U. P., M.P. with the help of several departments / Ministries like MoHRD, MoT, DC ( Handicrafts), U.P. SDM, KVIC, MoRT , MoA etc. It includes establishment of, Women Technology Park with DST, New Delhi, Skill Development Centres under Samarth in U.P.& M.P. with MoTextiles / Minorities Affairs, Common Facility Centres for different crafts like Metal, Bambo, Liquar ware, Hand Embroidery etc. under DC(H) and MSME. Planed to establish Driving Training Centres in Allahabad and Mirzapur ( MoTransport ) and helped Sanakriti Mahila Mandal, Katni in establishing CFC under SFURTI (KVIC) in Satna, M.P. These are some big projects, in which, livelihoods are assured through Skill Development, Design and Production and Marketing of products. Jobs oriented training programmes were also organized for those, who are willing to move outside.
• Also officiated as a Principal in BMG Degree College (under S U Alld) Allahabad from Feb. 2018 to Jan.,19.
• Worked as Dy. Registrar (Administration) in Nehru Gram Bharati Vishwavidyalaya at Allahabad (Deemed to be Univ.) from March,2016 to Jan,18 and discharged the duties accordingly including Admission, Administration, Establishment and  Purchasing.
• Worked as a Director/ Member-Secretary in Jan Shikshan Sansthan (Institute of    People’s Education), Pilibhit (a scheme of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India) from April - 2005 to June 15. Now it is under Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
• Worked as Programme Officer in Jan Shikshan Sansthan at Allahabad from Sept, 2001 to March, 2005 with the objectives directed by MoHRD, GOI.
• Worked as NGO Programme Coordinator at the Varanasi Office of Canada based foreign funding agency, World Literacy of Canada from August 1995 to Feb. 2000. Job includes total field based involvement for socio-economic and environmental development with particular reference to women empowerment. Toured widely the rural region of U.P. BIHAR, ORISSA, WEST BENGAL and NEPAL to select Partners, launch and handle, monitoring/ evaluation over 25 projects. These programs were based on livelihood including formation of women’s groups and functional literacy, SHGs and IGP, skill training and linkage with diff. organisation, Health and Sanitation, Safe Drinking Water, Children’s Program, Agriculture and Environment Development, Community and Mass awareness on different   issues.
• Worked as Consultant for Centre for Pollution Control (a Solid waste/ Medical waste management Company) in Varanasi.
• State level identified Trainer for Saakshar Bharat by State Literacy Mission Authority, Lucknow.
• Supported District Authorities and supporting NGOs and other Bodies as a Trainer and regularly providing training to government officials, NGO persons, rural people, panchayat office bearers and other mass on micro-credits, SHGs, Entrepreneurship development, Youth/ leadership, Disaster management, TNA, Team Building, Productivity, Stress Management, Orientation of Govt. Schemes and on many more topics.
• Acting as a NGO consultant to several NGOs. This includes office regulations and automation, pre-project appraisal, field visits, project formation & management, processing, evaluation and how to develop good network with other likeminded INGOs, NGOs, and GOs for long term and result based partnership.
• Supported as Trainer to ANARDE foundation and provided training to students belongs to Post Graduate diploma in Rural Management ( a Deptt. Of Adult Education M. J. P. Roohailkhand University, Bareilly) programme.
• Supported “National Environment Conservation Association” at Varanasi as Development Advisor and launched women centred socio-economic and skill development projects in and out of Varanasi (Supported by NOVIB, Netherlands) from April 2000 to August 2001.
• 5 years experience in discharging the duty of Honorary Director for Allahabad University based “Environmental awareness Programme / GangaJal Pradushan Avam Nidhan Pradarshani.” Also worked indirectly for Ganga Project Directorate of the Ministry of Environment & Forest, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Ministry of Youth Affairs and for UNEP.
